An awesome statement about your website
Phi Mu collegiate chapters are mentored, assisted and supported by alumnae chapters through our Heart-to-Heart program. Joined together by either a local or long distance match, this program is also a mutual relationship where both chapters support one other.
The SouthWest MI alumnae chapter is proud to support and mentor our Heart-to-Heart chapter, Rho Eta.
By having a Heart-to-Heart chapter, we are able to instill in Phi Mu collegians they are a Phi Mu for life, not just during their college years. Not to mention, we can show them how fun it is to be an active alumnae member!
Phi Mu Fraternity founded the Rho Eta Colony at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI in Fall 2008. Phi Mu recruited over eighty girls that held the values of love, honor, and truth. The ladies were initiated on December 6th, 2008, the day the Rho Eta colony became a chapter.
Since then, the ladies of Rho Eta have continued to support the Children's Miracle Network and the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital, raising a total of over $10,000 for CMN with events such as Dance Marathon, an annual Poker Tournament, and a Just For Kids dinner.
Since Fall 2009, the ladies of Phi Mu have successfully recruited outstanding new members to join the Rho Eta chapter and are excited to recruit more new members this upcoming fall!
There are numerous ways our chapter supports Rho Eta. Many of our alumna serve as advisers for Rho Eta, helping them with all faucets of their chapter.
Every fall we have plenty of alumnae members who help how with Formal Recruitment, often doing work behind the scenes. This helps to ensure the weekend goes smoothly and Rho Eta is able to have a successful recruitment of new Phi Mus! Even our members who aren't able to help out in person show their support with donations the collegians use throughout the weekend (we all remember how nice the quick snacks, mints to freshen up, etc. were during our recruitment weekends).
Throughout the school year, we make connections with Rho Eta. In February, for Heart-to-Heart day, we make it a point to show our love to the collegians. In the past, we've baked/decorated cookies and put together goody bags. We're looking forward to hosting an event for them in the future.
Other involvement with Rho Eta includes taking part in their Ritual ceremonies (Initiation & 3D), supporting their philanthropy events, and hopefully welcoming in their graduating seniors into our chapter or an alumnae chapter wherever they call home after graduation.
